Groove 2007 SharePoint integration

Tags:

ThreeWill has been building solutions on Groove for a couple of years now (long before the Microsoft purchase) and we have really enjoyed using it (especially on projects) to collaborate more effectively.

One of the nice integration points with Groove 2007 is the inclusion of the SharePoint Files tool – you can use this tool to point to a Windows SharePoint Services v3 document library (or folder in a document library).

For example, today I wanted to collaborate with a couple of other people at ThreeWill about a proposal for an upcoming project. I created a new Groove workspace for this purpose and pointed the SharePoint Files tool at a sub-folder in a secured document library. This allows for me to share the documents in this subfolder with others and still have the documents stored in SharePoint (with its search, workflows, versioning, check-in check-out, and other capabilities).

Another benefit of the SharePoint Files tool is you can check out documents from the Groove 2007 UI (see screenshot below).

Now what I am looking for is a similar "SharePoint Discussions" tool to synchronize with SharePoint discussion lists – leave me a comment if you know if something like this is available.
